Due to a prolonged dry spell and failure of crops in northeastern Uganda, the Karamoja region is experiencing unheard of levels of acute malnutrition. This area is already classified as one of the world's poorest regions with 61% of the population living in objective poverty and their children are 11 times more likely to die from malnutrition than the majority of the world's children who are well nourished.

This group of people is also considered an unreached people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.

With permission from the Government of Uganda and the local authorities, PESH seeks to reach the area with emergency food relief. We are targeting families with malnourished children, the vulnerable poor, elderly, and people with disabilities.
